Your musicians were awesome!!! The seniors were up and dancing. Singing and clapping. There are no words to express how much it meant - particularly today. We lost a leader in this group and his funeral was last night. I was somewhat anxious about the mood of the group today, but the performers turned our sorrow into a celebration.

Every week I play five or six gigs. My Music for Seniors’ performances are almost always the most fun.

You see what it means to me. I just love every minute of it. I am here all the time by myself. This entertains me. It lifts me up and builds my spirit high.

I wanted to personally thank you for the joy your music brought to our residents. The management and staff have been moved by what they experienced. After the music was over the musician went to each of our residents to speak to them personally. One resident told the musician her first and last name. This resident has never done that before! Our staff has been talking about how music can make such a difference.

You have been such a gift to our center. We don’t want to miss anything and we are overjoyed with each performance! Thank you so much for making this possible!
— Mary Hendrixson, Social Director
I visited various individual rooms and there were some rewarding encounters. One woman was in her wheelchair, all dressed for dinner, but with a disturbed look on her face, and continually saying "help me." I looked for the right song, and came up with Irving Berlin's "Always." As soon as she heard it, her face lost its agitation, and she looked up as if all pain had been relieved. Then I sang "Moon River" and she was having a good time. It's amazing the power that music has.

We loved the music Tuesday night! The residents are still talking about how wonderful they were!!
