August, 2010 Nashville Christian Towers shared their fantastic activity building with us for a 70’s style HOOTENANNY! It was a rousing sing-along of folk song favorites, led by Music for Seniors performers Donna Kay Anderson, Candace Corrigan, Janne Henshaw, John England and Sarah Martin McConnell.
July, 2010 we
had a rousing patriotic concert celebration: “RED, White, andBLUEGRASS”
featuring world renowned bluegrass artist, Kathy Chiavola. FiftyForward
J.L. Turner Center, in Bellevue, hosted this fun-filled hour of music, laughter
and sing-alongs – complete with a delicious complimentary light
lunch. God Bless America!
June, 2010 we
partnered with Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Senior Citizens Awareness
Network (SCAN) to present our first concert at James E. Ward Ag. Center in Lebanon, TN.
The concert featured “The Fall Creek Boys” who presented an hour of
old time gospel music. The fans were blowin’, the band was goin’ –
all in all – it was hot!
Cinco de Mayo 2010
celebration (re-scheduled May 19 due to flooding) at Donelson
Station, highlighted Blanca Jager and
Hispaño Americana. This folk dance
troupe was a swirl of motion and colorful costumes - with dances from
Argentina, Portugal,
Peru and Mexico. Everyone enjoyed the entertaining narrative
history of each dance, the traditional Mexican lunch menu and, of
course, the piñata!
April, 2010 featured The
Nashville Singers 10-piece barbershop group, at FiftyForward
Knowles. From their opening rendition of
"The Star Spangled Banner" (as they descended the spiral staircase)
straight through
to the finale, this fantastic group was a real crowd pleaser.
March , 2010 we were
back to The Schermerhorn, this
time to hear the Nashville Symphony Orchestra's
"Brahms and Big Sur" program.
December, 2009 brought
two concert events: a festive holiday sing-along with The Caroling
Troubadours at The Frist Center
For the Visual Arts (in conjunction with their Senior Mondays) plus The
Elizabethtown College Jazz Band and Concert Choir,
hosted by FiftyForward Adult Day Services at Second Presbyterian
Church.
Other 2008-09 concerts have included:

playing favorites by Brahms, Mozart, Chopin and Gershwin (on the baby
grand at FiftyFoward Knowles);

section player for the New
Orleans Symphony Orchestra) and his entertaining program
exploring the history and development of wind instruments, at Park Manor's
lovely auditorium;
